ABOUT ME

My name is Fabio Lombardi and I’ve worked abroad for the past 17 years, 14 of which onboard passenger cruise ships across the globe. I have grown to appreciate the different cultures I’ve been in touch with – either through our dynamic and ever-changing working environment on the cruise ship industry or through the many ports of call I’ve had the privilege of visiting. 

I am fascinated by culture, human connection and how we can contribute to create a friendlier, conscious and more sustainable environment. I believe that the experience of working on a culturally diverse environment whilst living with people from over 60 different countries had changed the way I see the world. 

As the onboard head of the Marketing & Revenue Division, I’m responsible for creating and supervising complete marketing plans and strategies for more than 20 different revenue streams and overseeing the operation of 9 different areas including various retail, food & beverage and service outlets.  

The fast-paced environment of cruise ships has taught me to make quick decisions and own the various problems or issues that may arise with total confidence having in mind 3 basic principles: minimum environmental impact, maximum revenue optimization and total guest satisfaction. 

 

During my career with Royal Caribbean International I was able to be a part of and develop many different programs including:

  • Re-establishing a complete marketing and revenue plan for an entire division responsible for a NET Revenue of over $80 million USD/year;
  • Developed a program to ensure guests had a complete destination experience by highlighting key elements of various ports of call providing cultural, historical and relevant tourist information through lectures and seminars;
  • Leaded multi-cultural working environments, contributing to the success of self-sufficient teams that were able to provide profitable results through excellent service;
